West Bengal Governor Dr. C.V. Ananda Bose praised Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the state government for ensuring a peaceful and joyous Ram Navami celebration across the state. In an official statement issued by Raj Bhavan, the Governor said, “Recent years have seen political bickering and violence, but this year Ram Navami in West Bengal was completely peaceful.” He added that the festival was celebrated with “joy and dignity,” and credited the positive outcome to the coordinated efforts of the administration and all political parties.
According to the Governor, the state government had prepared extensively for the event. Adequate deployment of security forces and high-level administrative alertness were put in place to ensure law and order. The arrangements were aimed at preventing any disturbances during the religious festivities. The Governor stated that the administration’s preparedness and efficiency were evident, allowing people to observe the occasion peacefully. He also acknowledged that this was the first time in recent years such a large-scale religious festival concluded without incident in the state.
Dr. Bose thanked the people of West Bengal for responding to his appeals made over the past few days. He noted that the public’s cooperation in maintaining peace played a vital role in the smooth conduct of the celebrations. The Governor highlighted that the collective efforts of the state government, political parties, and citizens made it possible to mark the festival in a calm and dignified environment, without reports of violence or unrest that had characterized previous years.
